Today Im showing you how to build custom planters around your floating deck an. Place the bottom board into the box. To build the side panels you will need to use 12 pieces of 1x4x3 decking 1 inch x 4 inches x 3 feet long.
Use a straight edge or angle square and a carpentry pencil to indicate the location of each cut. Turn the planter over. I could fill this thing with kittens.
All you need to do to create this stunningly wooden look is cut the boards glue some scraps and paint a finish. Now its time to move onto finishing touches. Space the holes evenly.
Weve built the floating deck. If your panel pieces are too long you can cut the parts with a table circular saw or a jigsaw. Drill at least five drainage holes in the bottom of the box.
Use Composite Decking to Make Durable Planter Boxes. Measure 4 pieces of cedar to make your legs. Screw the bottom to the planter box by drilling through the sides of the box.
You may have tried composite decking for a deck project but did you know you can use it for planter boxes as well. Drill them no more than 34-inch wide. If youve constructed a very large planter you may need to add additional holes.
